This is really an Image Ready question, but I cannot find such a forum, and since I build the file in Photoshop I hope I can ask it here.
I have CS2, and built a file with several layers on transparent background and went into image ready and use the eyeball to make layer 1 visible and selected 3 seconds, then I got a new frame and turned eyeball on layer 1 off and layer 2 on, and selected 3 seconds. Then did the same thing for the third frame showing only layer 3.
If I had a solid background this would have worked, but with transparent backgrounds I got 1 for 3 seconds, the 1 AND 2 for 3 seconds, then 1 AND 2 AND 3 for 3 seconds.
Does Image Ready have a bug in it for transparent backgrounds?
I tried both GIF and PNG
