Hi. I have WinXP, Adobe CS3, Epson2200 and an old HP832C that is set as my default printer for documents.

Before printing images the Print window pops up. If the printer choice is on the HP the orientation matches the ikon. However, when I change the printer to the 2200 the image is the opposite of the ikon setting, i.e.the image is in landscape mode when I click portrait, and v.v.

I tried changing which printer was set as "default" hoping that might be a work-around but no luck. BTW, this happens despite correctly setting the page orientation in the printer window.

Since I don’t print on a regular basis I have to remember to trust the image appearance and not the ikon. I’ve considered reinstalling the Epson and/or CS3 but don’t want to do this unless there’s a chance of success.
Also, this never happened with CS.
Thanks for your help, Arnold

I, like you, use a different printer as my default for general tasks. I have an Epson R1800 strictly for photos.

It is a colossal pain in the backside to remember for each picture to reset the printer from default to the Epson.

I wish I could establish a default printer for Photoshop CS3 to override the Windoze Vista default.

No solutions for you at this time.

As Bubba Clinton would say, "I feel your pain."
