Problems with, "Save As" freezing program

In the last few days of the past few months of using photoshop, I’ve started having Photoshop lock up any time "save as" is clicked. I used to have an action to do this, so I disabled the action and still have problems. I also closed out any other programs used by the system and still have problems.

First step when things start to go pear shaped is to reset the Prefs file (as detailed in the FAQs) A corrupt Prefs can cause all sorts of strange unexplainable problems.
