PSCS3 difficult to shut down in WinXP PRo

Tonight it took somewhere between 90 and 120 seconds, maybe more to shut down. I had no images open. All other applications had been shut down. Repeated use of Task Manager were needed to shut down.

There have been many times that it has taken up to 1 minute or more to shut down PSCS3.

I have 4GB of RAM( only 3GB show up). Why do I have so much trouble?
