Hello.

I am planning to purchase a new machine. My current (Which served me well)one is a 3 years old AMD64 3000, 2 GIG one, and runs very slow (to my eyes – and I tried all the tricks and tweaks).I use it for extensive photoshop and flash projects) I want to buy the best one possible – Which processor to use? (AMD vs. Intel), What is Adobe’s official stand regarding this issue? which is offering best performance and better compatibility with Adobe’s applications? What is Adobe’s stand and compatibility with 64Bit systems and multi-CPU OS and systems? What is your opinion on these issues? (from your own expirance of course)/

Thanks million,

Orit

What do you define as ‘running very slowly’, as this can be very subjective.

I was experiencing pretty much the same thing with a trial copy of PS3 on my system about a month ago. However since then I’ve done a full re-install of my PC and the difference is like night and day.

Certainly if I hadn’t have done a reinstall I’d have been thinking about upgrading my hardware and that is far more expensive then just simply re-installing the OS and required applications.

For the record my system is an AMD Athlon64 2800+ with 2GB RAM, a 36GB RAID0 system drive and a 500GB RAID1 data drive.

Now all I’ve got to do is save up the pennies for a fully licensed copy of PS3 😉

I’ve been using PCs since the Zilog-processor and CP/M days, but if it were me I would buy a new Mac/Intel machine. However, if you need to go the Wintel route, I would suggest an Intel quadcore machine, 4GB of RAM, a 250GB primary drive, 500 GB RAID internal secondary
