My pet’s eyes in a picture are an extreme green color that shows no pupil or iris (the actual color of eye) the whole eye is illuminated to were it seems as if she (the dog) has a flashlight pointed at you. Anytime I try to fix the problem with different tpes of red eye reduction techniques eye just looks an odd gray. Does anyone have any tips I can use to fix this photo?

My thought is since the color of the dogs eye is green and not red, try masking just the eyes and reduce the saturation of the green channel. This can be done with Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation>Edit:Greens>Lower Saturation

I was thinking about that too, but i think i’d use the channel mixer.

see this faq on red eye, see answer 2:

I had the same problem and did it the old-fashioned way as though I were inking or painting. I blew up the area of the eyes, sampled the darkest part with the clone tool and darkened what needed to be darkened. I then selected a nice warm gold and, with a round brush selected, placed circles of that where they would fall as highlights. The result was flawless.

I’ve still got alot to learn.
