Any recommendations for a clipart package that would be suitable for Photoshop CS2?

Depends exactly what you want the clipart for. Almost anything will work with the program.

Pretty much a novice here, but was thinking about a package where the images would be scalable, have different backgrounds (white, black, transparent), etc. Does any of the Broderbund stuff do this?

Cute!

I’m not that much of a novice that I haven’t looked other places before asking here for some professional opinions.

Take a breath, bud.

Google Search…

Results 1 – 50 of about 2,580,000 for "clip art"

Other than that there is not a lot anyone here can do to help you – pretty much as John said before you made him draw breath.

Dearl,

As Don first said, Photoshop can handle quite a variety of image formats but while I’ve never made use of much clipart, I vaguely seem to recall having seen some clipart that was had a unique file extension, and that might not be supported. But, if your clipart packages are comprised of BMP, GIF, TIF, JPG images (to name some of the most common formats) then yes, PS will handle it. Keep in mind that while PS does have some vector graphics capabilities, it isn’t a robust vector editing application as is Illustrator. So, if the clipart collections are vector images, you may be better off using them with Illustrator if you have it. I’ve done little or no work wtih vector graphics, so I don’t know what file format they are usually provided in, but it is only vector art what will be scaleable without a loss of resolution, if that is important to you.

Regards,

Daryl

Thank you, Daryl…

Apparently, there was a glitch somewhere in the forum where one of my posts was deleted in this thread.

In that post I (briefly) explained that being a PS novice, I wasn’t all that sure how to ask the question and explain what I thought I was looking for.

Can I breathe out now?

Just give it another hour or so. 🙂

I wasn’t all that sure how to ask the question
