Hi…I am designing a CD label and was wondering if image composition is a good idea or not(example, taking 2 different images and fading them into each other using photoshop)?

For that matter, is image compositions in professional prints, such as book covers, brochures, anything printable…a good idea? I’ve heard that it might not be, and was curious to know why not?

Has anyone any ideas?
Thanks for your comments in advance.
P.S. Sorry about the repost:-(

If it’s done well there’s no objection to using such techniques for what you said.

If it’s done well. However, nothing looks worse than a lashed up collage or cruddy text over a poor image.

If it’s to be mass produced, talk to the printer too.
