Ok I’ve just updated to Web Premium CS3 w/ Photoshop Extended.

After installation of all apps and setting up workspaces.

I notice in PS that some of the Menu selections under
File – Edit – Image – Select etc. are colored?

It’s an ugly looking lilac color.

Is this supposed to be this way? I can’t see why, it’s quite disturbing.

None of the other CS3 apps show these and am wondering if anyone else has this on there PS install?…and if so is there a way to eliminate this?

Wish I could send an image of this.

TIA,
Kevin

Not lilac on my screen, just a light gray.

There’s an option under Preferences to turn coloured menus on/off – IIRC the colour shows the most common menu options depending on what you’re doing – but I just turn it off, too confusing!

Go to Edit > Menus… and ensure the default is selected in the drop-down box and Application Menus in the second drop down.

Notice there are lots of options available including highlighting frequently used commands with colour or hiding items you never use.

If, like Graeme, you don’t like the advantages this feature offers, turn it off in General Preferences.

Thanks John,

Don’t know why the default install was this color and by the way it’s not "Lilac" it was "Violet"…

Me thinks someone has too much time on their hands to think this is an actual "needed feature"…

I’d rather see them fix the things that need to be fix than color the things they think need to be colored.

Thanks for the help!
