I guess it would be carriage return if we still used a typewriter. 🙂 Anyway, in CS3 When I hit enter it does not create/move down to the next line for text. It just closes the text layer. Any clues what I am doing wrong?

Also, where is the PS wish list?

Thanks,
Curtis

The CR key (above the right-hand Shift key on a standard keyboard) will start a new paragraph. The Enter Key (extreme lower right) will comit the text.

We are talking the same key. I have always used the enter key (which has the CR back arrow on it) as the CR. This is above the right hand shift key. The only thing above it is the backslash key. In other words I am not using the "enter" key on the numeric keypad. I have 5 keyboards around me and they are all the same.

All it does it commit the text. This worked fine until CS3.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Try resetting the text tool.

If that doesn’t do it, try Resetting the Prefs (details in the FAQs)

If neither cure it, investigate whether some other app you are running is changing the keyboard mapping.

Thanks Chris!
All of that along with a restart did it. Weird…I never had any problems like this until CS3. This is the second time I have had issues with the text tool in CS3…me thinks it’s still a bit buggy!
I appreciate your help. 🙂
