Hello,

I have a couple of layers which I grouped into one Smart Object.

I ran into an issue when I tried to change the canvas size of the Smart Object. Once I changed it, the text on the parent image changed as well and became blurry.

However when I open the smart object in edit mode, all text layers looks ok.

I tried to resize the smart object on the parent image with Free Transform but this didn’t do the trick.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Eyal

Just to clarify, here are the steps to re-create this issue:

1. Create new window
2. On this window create a couple of text layers
3. change the anti aliasing method to non for each text layer
4. High light the text layers > right click > group into smart object

So far everything should work fine.

5. Open the smart object for edit
6. change the canvas by 50 pixels
7. close and save

Now you will see that the object on the main page was changed in size and the text became blurry.

Hi Eyal,
perhaps, it’s just a viewing issue. Does the text seem blurry when you flatten the document?

On the other way I can’t see the point – why change a smart object’s canvas size at all? Without background (you packed 2 text layers right?) it simply doesn’t matter. And even if with a background, masking the smart object is easier and better complies with "non-destructive" concept.
