I am trying to use photoshop CS2 to render some drawings. I typically use chartpak art markers on paper to render sketches but I am hoping to transition to using photoshop, but I can’t find a brush that gives the same square chisel effect. If anyone has found a setting that would mimic this type of marker please let me know so I can move into the digital generation.
Thanks!

I grew up (went to college) using markers pencil and paint. I transitioned to digital media starting around 1990 when the programs started to get reliably commercial. I consider myself an expert at Photoshop and I am very good (still) with hand tools.

I cannot imagine trying to recreate those hand drawings in Photoshop. That’s kind of like saying, does anyone have a paint brush that paints just like a pencil. They are two different media and computers are yet another.

If you want to render digitally, get into a 3D rendering program such as Autodesk VIZ.
If you want to illustrate, use Illustrator, if you wnat to manipulate photographs and other images, use Photoshop and if you want really cool art marker drawings, buy some nice Bristol board and markers. If they need to be digital, get a wide format scanner or a digital camera.

That said, take a look at all of the existing brushes in Photoshop and then Google "Photoshop brushes" I’ve never seen an art marker brush, but I’m quite sure you could make one. You might be able to buy one here: http://www.photoshopbrushes.com/ or find a free one here: http://www.psbrushes.net/

Have fun!
