hi, names Milton…
new to CS3 but not new to photoshop but still I came here to hon my skills even more so I hope that I can get some help here.

I need some help already now haha^^

what I wan to do is add more type of fonts in my photoshop.. how do I do that ah/??
and how to I draw a box across and make it like the Good Charlotte latest album about Billy (if anyone has seen it)

what I wan to do is add more type of fonts in my photoshop.. how do I do that ah/??

you can either buy them or download free fonts off the net (google for "free fonts" brings up <carl sagan>billions and billions</carl sagan>). be careful with free ones as every now and then you could get a corrupt one. conventional wisdom is don’t try to load more then 6 or a dozen at a time and always test in photoshop before loading more. that way if you DO get a corrupt font, you’ll be able to easily tell which ones you just installed and you can back them out without trouble. it’s a real pita to try to hunt down a bad font when you’ve just installed 500 at a clip! 🙂

to actually load them, place the fonts you want to install in a seperate folder (say a temp folder on your desktop, is how i do it). open control panel in windows. open the Fonts applet in the control panel. select File> Load New Fonts. navigate to your temp folder where the fonts are. select the ones you want to install and check the "copy fonts to windows\fonts folder" (or something like that).

when asking for a particular technique here, it’s always a good idea to post an example image if one’s available. you can use something like <http://www.pixentral.com/> to upload images and create a thumbnail. after uploading (or linking) you can copy the HTML code that appears UNDER the image at pixentral and drop it in a message and it will show up as a thumbnail. like so:

that will let others see what you’re talking about and make suggestions. also, clicking on the thumbnail brings up a full size version of your image…

btw, the previous image i used for an example is copyright by them members of the band Rush (Neil, Geddy and Alex) and is available for download at <http://www.rush.com> ! 🙂

Just add your fonts to windows (OS) and they should appear in PS.
