After cleaning some registry keys due to a virus photoshop 7 reports a launch failure while communicating with one of my installed cameras or scanners and recommends i re-install or update device twain drivers.The problem is I don’t have a camera or scanner installed. I had Nikonview installed but my understanding was that it is not a Twain device. Operating system is Windows ME.Any imput is appreciated.

You’re in a forum dedicated to Photoshop. OF COURSE your question regards Photoshop, so that’s not needed in the title. A better title for your thread would have been something like:
Cleaned registry of virus; now getting incorrect Twain failure alert. This will attract users who are likely to know how to help. It will also allow future visitors to search for answers when they experience the same problem. Then, go aheadf and provide details about which version you’re using, what you’ve tried to do to solve the problem. etc.

I’d offer help if I used Windows, or got viruses. But I use Macs and don’t have these sorts of problems. I’m just trying to help you to help yourself obtain better, quicker, more complete info.
