Thanks John, tried that and although it make a bit of difference it gave it more of a shadow look which I don’t really want.

Ed might have something as this is quite a low res image, I’m trying to add text onto the image.

Again not sure what a ‘mask’ is if you could lmk how I can find out?

Also ed, I tried to go to edit but the fill option is not enabled.

cheers.

I doubt there’s a mask. Look up Layer Mask in Help.

If it’s editable type you can change the letters, font, color, etc. If you can’t do any of that it is probably rasterized. Can you do that? Double-click on the "T" in the Layers palette to edit.

Live type would not be possible to be filled. If it’s live and 100% Opacity (Layer Opacity and Fill Opacity as shown at the top of the Layers palette) and the Mode is set to Normal, that’s all you can do.

Yes I can edit the text I’m the one adding the text on top of the image.

If it’s editable I would suggest there are no "holes". You’ve got an optical illusion there and there’s nothing you can do about it, except maybe put a small outline on the text.

Apart from the background layer and the text layer are there any other layers showing in the Layers palette?

How did you get the textured effect on the background and how did you get it on the text?

Yes there are different layers due to me editing the picture.

The textured effect on the background is from the original image, the efect on the text is due to the font used.

Is the text layer on top?
