Computer: Homebuilt AM2 5200+ on ASUS M2N-E, 4GB Corsair XMS 6400C4 Memory, 2 X 36GB SATA Raptors (RAID 0), 160GB Maxtor Storage Drive, BFG 88640 GTS OC Video. Windows Vista64 Home Premium.
Have Elements 4 (CD), purchased Elements 5 Upgrade (Download). Downloaded Vista patch.
Problem: Apparently I have to install Elements 4 in order to install upgrade to Elements 5. I had thought it would accept the Elements 4 serial number without installing the program (since 5 will work with Vista, but 4 is not supported), but apparently not. When I try to install Elements 4, Vista warns "Known compatibility problems" and offers to try to resolve, which it can’t do.
Do I tell Windows to install Elements 4 anyway and then install 5, or do I have to purchase the full version instead of being able to upgrade?
Thanks
