I’m running Photoshop CS3 on XP and use X-rite Pulse ColorElite to profile my monitor and Epson 4800 printer. After saving the color patch target file, how do I print it from CS3? I assume this target should be printed without any color adjustments or printer profile, but I’m confused with the options offered on the CS3 Print Dialog Box. In particular: Color Management vs. Output, Document vs. Proof and Color Handling, Printer Manages color vs. No Color Management.

Clarification would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill

To print the profile target, you want to print it using No Color Management in the Print Preview dialog and with the No Color Adjustment option in the Epson driver, after choosing the correct media type and resolution. That way, you’re just sending the raw RGB data to the printer with no intervention either by Ps or the Epson driver. Of course, that’s the way you’ll want to print your subsequent prints, after converting them to your new profile.

Peter, thanks for your suggestions. I am familiar with the Epson driver settings; but, new to CS3, was not sure which settings to use on the CS3 Print dialog to insure that raw data is sent to the printer. Am I right in assuming that you are recommending selecting "Color Management" rather than "Output", "Document" rather than "Proof" and then for "Color Handling", "No Color Management" rather than "Printer Manages Color"?
