CS2 & Dual Core computers

For some reason my Adobe CS2 apps don’t work without troubles. Someone said that it might be the new PC I bought awhile back. It has a WinXP OS and AMD 64bit X2 Dual Core 4200+. Is anyone else having troubles with Dual Core and Adobe? And is there anyone who knows how to fix it?

I really don’t know how to make the needed fixes. And the list of issues is long.
