I need help making a script or action to save images using the ‘optimize to file size’ function of the Save for Web & Device feature.

MacBook Pro 16” Mockups 🔥

– in 4 materials (clay versions included)

– 12 scenes

– 48 MacBook Pro 16″ mockups

– 6000 x 4500 px

AS far as I know it can’t be done. That function can’t be accessed directly by scripting. All you can do is to guess what might be the best setting and use that.

It might be possible with scripting to try out a setting, save that file, and then compare the file size of the two images. You would then need to create an iterative algorithm to repeat this process until you got to your target file size. That might be quite a complicated script.

There are some talented scripters over on the scripting forum that may have found a solution to this , but I know it has been discussed many times without a solution being available.

Go here for the scripting forum.

Good luck.
