Can’t change out of Hand Tool in PS CS3 or PSE 5.0

Hi,

I am having a very odd problem. I can’t change out of the hand tool in the palette in either Photoshop CS3 or PSE 5.0. I can click into another tool, but the cursor never changes to the clicked tool so that I can use it.

Does anyone know of a fix for this? I would sure appreciate your help.

Monte, I am having the same problem in CS2. It has never happened to me before. I was following a tutorial in the brushes palette and when I went back to my image to start painting all that shows up is the ‘hand tool’. I can’t change out of the ‘hand tool’. I don’t know what to do.

Trash/reset Preferences as per the FAQs.
