Can I use CS3 upgrade to upgrade PS7 upgrade?

I have Photoshop 7 which is an upgrade from an original full copy of Version 5. Will the CS3 upgrade version work or does it only upgrade from a Full version of version 7 and upwards?
I have the original disks for both 5 and the 7 upgrade.

Everything’s legal and registered, right?

Registered or not, and even if you have legal versions, you MAY need to call Adobe Customer Service (link at the top of every forum page) to get everying in CS3 properly authenticated, registered and activated, but it should be a breeze.

"version 5 plus upgrade to 7" is identical to a full version of version 7.

The CS3 upgrade *should* work fine.

PS:
– The CS3 upgrade is the last version to which you can upgrade from version 7 since only the last 3 versions are eligible for upgrade. – If you have v.7 and wait until CS4 (or whatever they call it), you’ll have to buy a full version of CS4.

If the three versions back remains the same. You never know when the rules will change.

It may change, Bob. But it highly unlikely it will change back to the unlimited rule, or to four versions or more back. Any change is likely to be to two versions back. They might be edging us towards having to buy every version.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
Think I will probably go for the CS3 upgrade now then whilst it seems it should work -I had noticed the 3 versions back rule which was one reason why I am looking at the upgrade now.
