Widescreen Distortion

I am using a 22 inch widescreen as my main design screen and found that my photos pen distorted on the screen. When I drag them to my secondary screen , a square 21 inch CRT, they regain their original shape. I tried to modified the pixel ratio bu to no avail. I would appreciate a tip.

LCD panels and widescreen panels in particular MUST be run at their native resolution.

I am not certain I understand this statement. The resolution of the screen is now 1280 x 1024. What should the native resolution be?

Pierre,

My 24-inch widescreen is natively 1920×1200, so I’m guessing your 22-inch may be the next step down, or 1680×1050 pixels. Both of these values represent a common 16:10 widescreen aspect.

On my 22 inch Wide Screen Acer , the native resolution is 1680 x 1050. That’s probably what it is on your 22 inch wide screen LCD.

1280 x 1024 is not a widescreen resolution. My 21" widescreen run 1680×1050.

If you have your widescreen monitor set to 1280×1024, the image will be stretched horizontally. Most widescreen monitors have an aspect ratio of about 16:10 or 16:9, but you are using a resolution with a 5:4 ratio, which is typical of a non-widescreen 19" LCD. You’ve got to set the resolution to the LCD’s native resolution.
