Since Adobe has mastered the digital image editing and the future is nothing more than improved GUI, I only see one thing left to include in future development. And that is, a great stitching engine of multiple digital images for extending resolution and panoramas. I’m sure they can make the best stitch engine and crush the 3rd party offerings.

"…the future is nothing more than improved GUI…"

Oh ye of narrow vision. There are boundless developments to come in image manipulation. And in GUI development.

Huh? Did you try out the new Photomerge or Align Layers feature of CS3?

It’s a bit primitive. It needs much more refinements in regards to becoming a full fledge stitching engine in regards to recongnizing lens distortions, manual stitch points, and many other features.

It’s a bit primitive.

If I were you I’d stop using Photoshop for ten or twenty years by then they might have something you can use. Until then just go take a nap.

I can agree that theres room for improvement. I find the ability to define a horizon the most glaring omission. Lens distortion after that.

But primitive it is not.
