I have a problem with CS3 that I didn’t have with previous versions of Photoshop. When I print a large image, It goes through the print dialog box, the Epson dialog box, then gives me the Epson Preview for printing, when I click OK to print – Photoshop blows up with the following error.

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Photoshop.exe abnormal program termination

It has even gone as far as to blow me completely out of Windows and restart the computer.

Is anyone familiar with the problem? Is this an Epson or Photoshop problem (I am assuming PS, since printing worked fine in CS2)?

Thanks
Marv

Not familiar with that particular issue but there seems to be quite a few when it comes to printing in CS3. I’d be looking at updating your print drivers as a first step, there was also several Very long posts recently regardin printing in this and the PS mac forum

Thank Brett, when I didn’t get a response here (before yours) I downloaded the latest driver from Epson and that didn’t fix the problem, I also reflashed the firmware with the latest version and the combination of the two seems to have fixed the problem.

Now I’ll have time to grip about the fact that there is no way to save frequently used Print setting in PS

In my opinion you’ve hit the most significant problem with cs3. In previous versions the printing dialogue would return with the last used settings. Now we have to reset everything each time we print. I can’t imagine this is acceptable. Manipulate in cs3. Print in cs2.

I suggest doing all of your printing with Qimage
