Hi

Whenever I try to save my file Photoshop crashes. It’s a bit different problem what some other guys have. I’ll try to describe it.

When I hit "Save" or "Save As" my dialog box appears. I can enter a name and browse a suitable location. But after pressing SAVE button the program freezes. There are couple of things I can do. I can expand and collapse the icon and toolbars and roll over the tools (default left) and the background changes.

I’ve managed to do some googeling and found some information about it. It seems that this kind of problem exist in MacOS (something to do with Adobe Version Cue CS3)

I think that …\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Version Cue CS3\Client\3.0.0\VersionCue.dll might be damaged but I can be wrong.

Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

you can disable version cue if you’re not using it (in the preferences?) maybe that will help.

Thank you Dave! I went to Edit > Prefrences > File Handling and unchecked "Enable Version Cue". But what does it do? Is it safe to disable it?

glad it worked rave! no you should be fine. from what i gather, version cue is for working on a team in an office and lets you save multiple versions of a file to a server. so the versions don’t get messed up when different people are working on them. i’ve never used it.

Dave, should we interpret that to mean that you are NOT a team player? <smiley face here>

I have the same problem and installed and reinstalled multiple times but hadn’t tried that. Are you on a Windows or Mac system….I am on Windows…couldn’t tell for sure from the original post
