Hi;
I recently cleaned out my registry with Registry Mechanic. I ended up deleteling something I should not have…Any ways; I did a restore and Photoshop CS2 has a pop up after opening…

"Adobe Activation:

You are not allowed to continue because your account does not have the proper priviledges. Please log in using an account with administrator privileges & try again"

I tried un-installing and re-installing…to no avail…

I need some expert help.

Thanks

Ted,

I don’t have much to offer here, but if the account you login to your PC with is not the specific "Administrator" user account (unless you renamed it to your name for example) but rather a user name within the Administrators group, then you might try logging in specifically as "Administrator" and see if that gets you any further. I don’t recall any such problems with CS2 but have seen at some time in the past where a Photoshop problem was rooted in that very issue, of my not running it as the "Administrator" user.

Regards,

Daryl

I’ve experienced the exact same problem. Was running CS2, did Registry Mechanic cleanup, now it’s complaining. I’ve tried, reinstalls, system restores, running as admin, changing ownership, … all to no avail. Thoughts anyone?

Thanks – Mike
