Unusual (and perhaps dumb) question. I bought the full version of CS2 for work and have it loaded on my pc at home as well, so that I can do work there if needed. We recently upgraded to CS3 on both machines. Now, I have my own personal laptop that I would like to have PS on it as well – but do not want to buy another copy. It occurred to me that I could deactivate and remove CS2 PS from my home pc and then load it onto the laptop. I would still have CS3 PS on my pc. I did this and things are working fine. Not sure if I am being a little sleazy here though.
However, I noticed that I cannot just double click on an image in bridge (in CS3) to open a image. I get a warning message saying that Windows cannot find the Adobe PS CS2.exe. I can right-click and open any file in ACR though. Obviously this is because I removed CS2 from my pc, I just don’t understand why it is happening.
Thanks for the help.

I recently had something similar happen as I uninstalled cs2 after installing cs3. Apparently some of the associations gets broken.
In bridge go to the edit menu select preferences and click on file type associations. Scroll down until you find the file extention that does not work and reassign it to your desired program. You could click on the reset button first, but its possible other extentions may get reset.
The problem I had was some of the extention in bridge were set to explorer settings. For example Illustrator had removed the association when it was uninstalled, so bridge did not recognize illustrator. Doing the above will fix this, however fixing the association in explorer is also wise to do.
For explorer find a file that the association is broken, right click on it and select Open with. Click Choose program. Now click on the prefered program, if it is not listed them click browse. Make sure the box has a check in it to always use the selected program to open that file extention.
And you should be all set.
