I’m running a Dell 8300 with 512 Megs of RAM and a Tekram SCSI card.

I have an HP C5100a Photosmart Scanner w/ SCSI interface. The new XP software which supports the S20 Scanner also serves as the upgrade for the C5100a. One problem though. If I cancel during a Twain import into Photoshop 7, start another scan within 3 or 4 minutes of the previous one I get a message that another version of the driver is still running. When I get that, I have to reboot to start another scan.

This seems like a Photoshop problem because if I cancel a scan and exit Photoshop I can then restart Photoshop and the scanner works fine.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Nope – you need to talk to HP about this, it’s a driver bug.

Thanks. I don’t think the odds of getting a fix for an out of production scanner driver are very good.
