I have Vista 32 bit, CS3, and an Epson R1800. I have followed the directions in the printer manual diligently, but always get the light (double managed ) preview before I print (it will print out that way also). I can’t seem to get the proper Photoshop manages color output. File is assigned ProPhoto color space. Has anyone had this issue? Is there a cure.

So you have Photoshop set to manage color, and you’ve selected the correct R1800 printer profile and you’ve disabled color management in the Epson printer driver, correct?

Or, you’ve set Photoshop to let the printer manage color and have set the Epson driver to manage color and made sure it’s selecting the correct profile? Either way insures you aren’t double-profiling.

If you double-profile, the prints are usually dark with posterized looking color. I don’t know why they would be printing light unless you had an incorrect or bad profile. And you won’t see a preview in Photoshop of a double-profiled print. Are you getting the light preview in the Epson printer driver preview?
