Help!!!!! Bar across picture….how do I remove it?

I tried to apply sharpening, blur and when I tried to save the picture… it had a vertical rectangle bar embedded in the photo where it darkened the photo. How do I get rid of it?

Did you close it? If not, go back in History.

Do you have a copy, or is that the only one?

At least on your screen res jpeg, it looks like you darkened the image through a rectangular selection. All you really need to do is to zoom in to the image and make an accurate selection of that rectangular area, and then use a Curves Adjustment layer to lighten the rectangle back to where it used to be.

I agree with Peter, use Curvels (or levels) to brighten it back up. It may be hard to exactly match the lighting, so you may be left with some "seams" where the rectangle was, so you can use the healing brush to blend those seams.

Looks nice. But I’d still like to know if the file was closed after saving, because going back in History is a lot easier.
