Hi.
I run Vista (32 bit) and recently purchased CS3 Web Design bundle. The activation screen comes up but doesn’t go through (sits, waits, goes to a ‘no connection’ screen).

This seemed odd so I ran a http trace on my machine (using Fiddler) and it tells me I get a BAD REQUEST. Here’s the packet in question:

HTTP/1.1 400 Fiddler – Bad Request
Content-Type: text/html
Connection: close
Timestamp: 18:39:35:6964

[Fiddler] Request Header parsing failed. Request was:
43 4F 4E 4E 45 43 54 20 61 63 74 69 76 61 74 65 2E 61 64 6F 62 65 2E 63 CONNECT activate.adobe.c 6F 6D 3A 34 34 33 20 48 54 54 50 2F 31 2E 31 0D 0A 0D 0A om:443 HTTP/1.1….

I don’t have any firewalls, antivirus or proxying software that is interfering. I’m running as administrator with UAC turned off.

Any ideas / timeframes on a fix?

call the # that’s on the activation screen and activate that way.

well, yes. That would fix MY problem, but not fix THE cause of the problem. It’d be nice to know if it’s my end or adobe’s.

the server seems to go up and down. that’s why they provide the #, i guess.

I don’t think that’s it. I’ve been trying since I installed – which was about 25 days ago. I’m aware that I can activate over the phone and indeed in a couple of days I will but I wanted to see if I could work out why the online activation – which I have tried 25 time now over 25 days – returns exactly the same problem every time. It’s not my end unless adobe’s vista implementation has some problem they’ve neglected to mention or fix. I’m sure there would be more "how do you activate" kind of threads if their server was down.
