I recently bought this book and when it arrived it appeared to be in new condition, even though it had a used sticker on it. The spin was not cracked at all, as if whoever had owned it before had never actually used it.

But when I opened it to the first page I found it started on page 15 of chapter 1. Leafing through I discovered that chapter 1 started again after page 30 of chapter 1. The back side of the intro picture to chapter 1 was page xvii. So I seem to have a new book where the table of contents and the introduction were left out and some other pages printed there instead.

Does anyone happen to have this book with everything intact? am I missing anything of importance? I’ve emailed both the dealer I bought the book from and Scott Kelby’s site but have heard nothing back.

Should I keep it or should I send it back and demand my money back?

Thanks,

Brandon

Absolutely send it back and get a refund or a replacement copy. Unless the book was described that way by the dealer, he/she should refund the cost of the book, plus postage both ways. That’s not to say that he will — but he should. As a bookseller and book collector, I’ve seen this happen more than it should — where the book is bound wrong and gets shipped by the publisher. By all means, return it.
