Hi,

I’m scanning several pages into Photoshop CS2 and no matter how much I try to align them, they come out slightly slanted. I know that PS has the Automated Crop and Straighten Photos option, but that does not work well on scanned text, as it splits 1 document into a million pieces. I also know about the measure tool (ruler) with the arbitrary rotation option, but that can’t be batched into an Action. I’m wondering, is a way to automate the deskewing of an image (just straighten, no cropping) within Photoshop, perhaps with an external plugin?

My scanner is old (Visioneer OneTouch 8100). The OneTouch option is great for multiple scans without having to run back to the computer and click "Scan" every time, but my version of PaperPort is old and is not Windows XP friendly.

Microsoft Office Document Imaging actually works really well. The OCR option kicks off automatically when I scan and properly rotates the image (even upside down images), but that only offers TIF and MDI saving options and it doesn’t allow me to run my other Actions on it (set white point, increase Contrast, crop the sides).

It seems all the pieces are there, yet I can’t integrate all of these options together. I found a deskew algorithm here:

Oh, ideally, the solution doesn’t require me to buy yet another piece of software. Thanks everyone.
