I apologize for posting this query here but I cannot find a Lightroom group and the Adobe Lightroom Forum is not working at present.

I am asking why my pictures look much darker and have a distinct reddish cast after importing them into Lightroom. When I compare them from Lightroom and my usual photo viewer (ACDSee) there is a significant difference as if exposure values have changed. Any thoughte as to a reason for this?

TIA.

Bob

This might be too easy but are you sure that you aren’t inadvertently applying a Develop Preset during the import? Otherwise, give some details about your setup and import parameters.

For Develop Setting in the Import dialog box I chose None and no Keywords applied. I am importing by Folder and Subfolder rather than individual files. All are JPG from 640×480 up to Nikon D70 5 Mp, 3 Mb images.

I an using Windows Vista Premium, Dell computer, 2 Gb RAM & importing from an external USB 2.0 drive.
