have Photoshop CS Ver. 8 . Today I tried to save tif files that ware open as tif to JPG I just cannot do it . I have a files that was not open at all I had to go to Paint and save them as JPG there and it work . I can open them in Photoshop, Paint and at Costco .
I know Costco but the one I used gives good prints and I walk in and 25 minutes walk out with 4 12×18 prints and that with 1 print that was a test —

8 bit or 16 bit? Jpg does not support 16 bit images.

List the full file name including the extension. I could understand your problem if, for example, you are trying to save <filename> as a jpg by changing <filename> to <filenamejpg>. Note the abscence of a period in the file name. This process will create <filenamejpg>.tif instead of what you want.
