Wow .. you have 8.0 already – must have great contacts ๐Ÿ™‚

If I’m understanding your question right: in the tool aspect bar just above the work area when you have the marquee/mask tool selected, change the normal setting to a fixed setting then supply the aspects ( width / height )you want to maintain..

So did that answer your question or were you thinking of resizing? Transform selection works for that, then hold down ctl when draggin a corner.
