Hi Everyone, I mean real ones – not drop shadows. Have just finished a shot ‘THE NON-CONFORMIST" with a lot of match sticks in it. Each one ought to have a shadow. I tried Photoshop’s dodge and burn tools and spray can with a jittery mouse/hand – it didn’t work. Yet, I have seen manipulated images where objects had a naturalistic looking shadow. Does anyone know how to do that? (My shot is at

Thanks for tips – Klaus.

Basically, copy the layer(s) of matches – desaturate – adjust levels till it’s all black – blur it a bit – edit>transform>distort until you like the way it looks. Drop the opacity a bit. That’ll get it started.
