When trying to select an object with the lasso tool and the image is larger than the window, when the marquee gets to the edge of the window the image scrolls extremely fast. How do you adjust the scrolling speed in photoshop???

Hi Peter,

This was the first time I’ve ever compared the various selection tools relative to the scrolling of the window. In my case, all BUT the lasso tool would scroll the window, whereas the lasso tool simply kept track of my cursor movements as it went out and returned to the image area. That seems rather peculiar, so it may be some minor bug that varies by one’s system.

Regardless, the solution seems to be the same whether the window scrolls automatically or if you need to do it manually….There is no adjustment of the scroll rate to my knowledge. Instead, while still holding down the mouse key from creating your selection, depress and hold the space bar to temporarily toggle to the Hand tool. Use the hand tool to pan your image so that you bring the desired part of you image into view. Note that moving your mouse will move the whole image within the viewable part of the window, while leaving your mouse cursor in place. Upon releasing the space bar you can then continue on with your selection.

Hope that helps,

Daryl
