Do you have a raw file or an original file? if not,i think are toast, unless your image has actually layers saved.

Unless the paint is on a different layer or you have some record or image of what was there before it was painted over, you are out of luck. If it’s a flattened image, there is nothing "underneath".

What’s the file format?

Sounds like he has a photo that has real paint on it. If so, he should look up a pro art restorer, pay big bucks, then reclaim what’s left in Ps.

Nah. He said with Paint, which I take to be that MS piece of crap.

Yep, it’s MS Paint. But sounds like it’s not coming off.

You need to go back to the original file. It does sound, however, that you saved your edits back over the original instead of working on a copy. Important lesson – learned the hard way! 🙁

yah you can fix it by using photoshop cs3, Choose Clone Stamp, You have to select a source area, point the brush at area you want to be clone press ALT left mouse click, then you can use it as a brush to remove unnecessary object in pictures and of course it depends on what the subject is. you can also use healing brush tool. you can visit my personal blog for photoshop at <http://photoshoparchived.blogspot.com> but for now please bear with me cause i’m still putting some updates to it from time to time and also don’t forget to write me things that you want to do using photoshop. thank you

So,if he painted over a persons face and all thats left is a nice beach scene, you can recreate his friend using the clone tool? i would like to see that happen.

Jojo. The way you have been spamming your Blog on these forums has rapidly been losing you credibility. This one, however, takes the biscuit!
