I am having problems printing a large format document. It won’t let me select "print" from the file menu. I’ve tried saving it as a PSB and as a TIF, but no luck. Are there parameters that are needed for photoshop to be able to print an image? I have a large format printer that can take the size I’m asking of it, 30" x 112".I am using Windows XP. I would appreciate any advise on how to get this to print.

Thank you

Waht are the pixel dimensions of the file? And what version of Photoshop are you using? CS2 has a maximum pixel size (for printing) of 30,000 pixels in either side.

If it’s an Epson printer, you can print just over 90 inches without using a RIP. Their printers are laying down dots at 360 per inch. I’m pretty sure the 30,000 pixel limit is really 32,768, which divided by 360 equals 91 inches, which is the figure Epson always mentions. The file resolution doesn’t matter, it’s how many printer dots are being layed down.

www.colorburstrip.com has more information about RIPs. I’ve used CB to make prints as long as 13 feet with no problems other than taking a while to print.
