Ed and John,thanks for the suggestions.

Alt/Shift does allow the transform to grow essentially from the center of the object, all 4 sides growing at the same time, however the disproportion still happens.

Again, the strange thing is I’ve used this method literally hundreds of times with square corners. And I had done a side-by-side comparison on another computer just the previous day…..square corners, honest.

The only thing I can think of that changed was I changed my Workspace to Default then back to my custom one………?

What kind of disproportion are you getting? If you add a certain amount to every side of a rectangle by any means, the resulting rectangle will not be proportional to the original. That’s geometry. So what are you trying to achieve?

I’ve used Photoshop for years, since ver 4. It’s always worked that way. Maybe a higher resolution file is giving you the illusion of square corners.

Maybe you started with a larger square and contracted your selection? That will maintain square corners on a square selection.
