I installed a new server running Server 2003 and a 1.7tb hard drive. We can no longer save photoshop files to the new drive. The only solution has been to save locally and drag and drop to the new server. We are using photoshop 7.

Known issue and you’ve found one of the workarounds. The others are to fill the drive with garbage to get it under 1Tb or partition it.

FWIW, this was a Windows issue that Adobe worked around starting with PS CS.

I think at the time photoshop 7 was made, drives of that size were not at all common, and version 7 may not be able to recognize it because of the large size. You may be able to partition that drive to something under 1tb and try saving to that. But keep in mind Adobe’s disclaimer about Photoshop not supported or recommended to save properly to networked drives, especially since you’ve just changed your setup. It may be that that has something to do with it, and even if not, other problems might crop up.
