After installing Photoshop CS3 (Master Collection) I was disappointed to see ImageReady gone but delighted when I went to the new Optimized save feature in PS that there is a .jpg file format option.

HOWEVER, after trying this several times, with several files PS will repeatedly save the optimized files as .gif files with the option set to .jpg (no matter what quality level is chosen).

HELP!!

Also…. I know that the rollover features are now only located in Fireworks (terrible! ;o) The slices are already created in PS but won’t translate into FW like originally created. Any easy way to do this?

Using comp layers you can create a layer for the rollover state. In the save for web and device you can tell photoshop to save selected layers.
The biggest problem is that photoshop no longer exports a rollover javascript. However since you have the master collection you can finish the rollovers in dreamweaver and it will create the rollover javascript.

Derrick,
That’s just a harmless glitch. Although you always save as "Images Only (.gif)", the images get saved to correct format.
