When you insert your CF card, you should get the Windows "What do You Want Windows to do?" pop up. If you have Bridge installed, one of the choices is "Download Images Using Adobe Bridge…" Select this and you will get the Bridge download window with options.
If you do not see the pop up go to Bridge: File > Get Photos From Camera… and you will get the Bridge Download Window.
If you are having problems with not getting an options window when you insert your CF card, see: Microsoft Page
For Windows XP go to My Computer, Right Click on your CF Card Reader, Click Properties and choose Auto Play tab. You can choose what you want Windows to do. For example, you can choose to open Bridge when pictures are detected.
I have no way to get Bridge to open my picture files from my cf card reader. I tried under autoplay and nothing there either. Also, under Bridge, file, there is no option for get files from camera. I have to use a windows camera and scanner wizard to copy my jpegs from the cf to a folder, then open the folder in bridge. But I cannot get raw files, the wizard does not see them. says "no images." Why can’t I get Bridge to handle my files instead of windows wizard? How can I fix it? Any help would be truly appreciated.
I am using windows xp and CS2, my camera is a cannon 5d. I am a prof.photog and need help desparately. Have a wedding on all my cf’s and no way to get to them. Thanks.
I have Adobe Bridge installed (same time as CS2), but I have no options involving Bridge. The windows wizard asks me if I want to copy files to a folder using windows wizard, view a slide show, open in windows explorer, do something with nero snap essentials. This is it. Then in Bridge, there is no option for get files from camera. What on earth? I looked at autoplay and it is the same options as above? How can I get brigde, photoshop, whatever to handle my picture files?
In bridge cs3,under the file menu, there is a choice to, get photos from camera, but i am on a mac,so not sure how it may look on your machine.
There is not that option on my bridge under file. Man, I wish there was!
Even if the files are not recognised as images, they should be listed in Windows Explorer if you navigate to the card reader drive letter.
You can then copy them to a folder on your computer and open them from there, providing they are recognised by the Adobe software.
I am a professional photographer just now trying to switch to shooting raw. But when I put my CF card in the computer, the wizard that pops up asking me if I want to copy files to a folder, it says there are no images. How can I get the files into my computer so that I can work with them in Bridge and PhotoshopCS2. Going to buy Lightroom also. Please help.
Are you actually using a card reader, or are you connecting your camera to the computer? If you plug a card into the card reader, the card will appear as a drive in the "get files from camera" dialog. You may need to click on the source to find the drive, and if you don’t see it when the card is plugged in, click on Reload or Refresh and see if it shows up. In fact, unless you have done something to override it, Windows will display a list of options when you plug in the card that includes Open in Bridge.
If you’re desperate, use the hideous Canon Zoombrowser software to download your photos, including RAWs.
Windows DOESN’T give me a bridge option.
I promise there is no bridge option. I wish there was. And in bridge there is no option under file for getting files from camera. Help!
I don’t know if this has anything to do with the problem but I can’t see any kind of email attachments with nero either. I have to save everything to my hard drive and then open with Adobe acrobat or photoshop. I cannot print from photoshop either. It’s like bridge and cs2 aren’t connected to options window sees to perform tasks. It really sucks. If anyone has any ideas or if there is something that I can uninstall like nero viewer or whatever I would appreciate it very much.
Oh and I am using the card reader in my computer.
