cursor doesn’t match selected tool

This just started happening with my version of Adobe Photoshop CS2:

My cursor display does not match the selected tool. For instance, when I select the magnifying glass, the cursor USED to look like a magnifying glass, now it is just a hand. If I select the pencil, it STILL displays as a hand.

What the heck happened?

Try deleting your prefs file as per the help instructions. Start PS with the shift+alt+ctrl keys held down. It’s a timimg thing, if you get it right you will be asked (dialogue box) if you want to delete the file, you do, a new will be created at start up.
