Ok I have done this before,

but I seem to have problem doing now,

I have creative suite 3, I am taking and slicing an psd file or jpg file, then optimizing throug save for web as jpg and trying to use the file in dreamweaver, but all find in the folder is a pile of files, just the slices no data or primary file to put into the image holder in the web page?

Save as html and images (save to a new folder) which should give you a HTML document and a folder of images. now open the HTML doc in DW and the folder of images all show together – as well you can expand the html and it will show where the image has been sliced.

Rob thank you, but still not luck

I create a new test site, in a new image folder I saved a psd file that is slice as a psd file. I then made a blank .html page and from the image folder in the site inserted the image, the optimize window opens and I save a optmized version as a jpg in the site image folder. I then save the html page. I go to click on the image to see slices to add links to them, no slices. I have done this and it was very hard to find the instruction, though I could work around this by image mapping, I prefer slices so I can use larger files and sent them faster via the internet.

No just make — save for web , html page and image folder through photoshop.

Save optimised as (window) create new folder called WEB SITE. File Name: Home page
Save as type: html and images(*.html).

Then open the html file in DW which should be in the folder which you have just created called WEB SITE.

Don’t make a new site. Don’t make a new html page. thats all made in the save for web – the new HTML page plus the folder with the images.

After you slice and save for web you have a html page and a folder with the image files in it.

Ok feeling slightly dumb, but I found it the as option for html and images, two more questions
1. now when I put the html file that holds the slices on another html page in say a table should I watch out for anything?
2. xhtml option what more can I do if I save in the fashion?
