I installed PhotoShop 7 and after a while I found out that I don’t have enough fonts. I’ve only got about 50 or 60 and that’s not enough to choose from. I understand that I can go to Control Panel/Fonts/File/Install fonts, but I don’t know where to get them from. I DO NOT want to download any from the web. I want to get them from my Windows XP CD, from the PhotoShop CD, or from Office, but I don’t know where they are. I’ve been looking but I haven’t had any luck.

I would appreciate it if someone could point me to where on one of the three above-mentioned CDs I might find a couple hundred fonts to give me more of a choice.

Thank you in advance,

Michael

Fonts arent ON a CD – as far as I know. These are the std System Fonts which are installed when Windows was set up. If you need more – search on the Web and install from there. There aren’t special PS – or any other application Fonts… just the system ones in /Windows/Fonts

Why do you think there are a couple of hundred fonts included with any of those?

Adobe has good font packages available from their web site. As does my fonts: www.myfonts.com They cost money. There are tons of freebies available on the web, but be forewarned that they may not all work trouble free in a professional environment.

There are a number of reasons that, perhaps wrongly, made me think that somewhere on either the Office, PhotoShop, or Windows CD there were a bunch of fonts. The first thing is that almost every computer in the office has hundreds more than the 60 fonts mine has. This leads me to think they are coming from either a standard Windows install or else a very common application which would have need for many fonts, like Office. The reason I thought they might be on PhotoShop is that I remember a CorelDraw install I did a number of years ago that came up with an option to load a bunch of fonts, which I did. That lead me to think that PhotoShop might have fonts, also. I am not equating CorelDraw with PhotoShop. I know they are different. Nevertheless, they are both types of graphics programs so it occurred to me that PhotoShop might also have a font library somewhere on the CD that I can install.

Maybe none of those three CDs mentioned have fonts on them, but I don’t find my assumption that they might have them to be unreasonable.
