Hi

I have a problem where snapshot thumbnails in the history pallet are always blacked out. Any ideas?

Thanks.

are you sure you’re not snapping a layer mask or something like that?

No.

If I open an image, the original snapshot is black. If i do a few operations and create a new snapshot, it is black.

Bad video driver? Try turning hardware acceleration down to zero to test it.

Trash/reset Preferences?

Couldn’t hurt.

If you click on the snapshot thumbnail what happens in the image?

Hi

When I clik on the snapshot, the image goes to that snapshot state (normal behaviour!?)

Ed

Is there a preferences file I delete? If so, what is it called?

Thanks for your help.

It’s in the FAQs, and in Help:

OK Ed. Tried that, no difference.
I am just going to install the 10.0.1 update, see if that fixes anything.

It may not help your problem but you should install it anyway.

Other than that, try closing and opening the History Palette; docking and undocking it; dragging it out on to the work area, and generally giving it an opportunity to refresh.

If that’s no good do a repair install from the Control Panel.

Well, that didn’t fix it either!
I think I’ll just have to live with this. The snapshots perform OK, it’s just that they don’t show the preview.

I’m wondering if it could be a hardware issue. Video card or whatever?

Maybe.. Yet I had CS2 installed with no problems?
I shall try the repair from control panel and then move on!

Thanks for trying

Phil.
