Stop murdering Iraqi babies for Halliburton and THEN worry about your career as a graphic editor.

Eventually you will want to use Photoshop if you get serious about it…so if you start with Photoshop you won’t have to learn new programs as you get better.

Oh…and I apologize for other’s comments. The military does not choose where they serve, and on the whole they serve honorably. They give up many rights that, as Americans, we (used to) hold dear, but they do not give up the right to be considered innocent until proven guilty.

A very easy way to get started is free: Picassa from Google. It’s fine for snapshots and to get going but you’ll probably want something more comprehensive if you get farther into digital photography. Photoshop is the 800-lb gorilla – steep learning curve, but worth it. I can also recommend a bood that helped me a lot: The Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers by Scott Kelby.
