I have got a quite fast computer and all my other programs are ok when i close them but for somereason photoshop seems to be really slow and takes ages to close down?

Anyone know why this could be? Or is it just coz its such a large program?

If this is not normal then can you let me know and i will reinstall it.

Thanks

If you have a lot of third-party plug-ins, that may be the cause. BTW, what OS are you using, and what utilities are running in the background?

Best guess is that Norton, AOL and Windows Blinds are hogging memory and slowing down PS closing. Try disabling these and see what happens.

The two main likely culprits on that list are AOL dialer and MSN Messenger (closely followed by Windows Blinds).

I disabled Norton and all seeems fine. When i try closing MSN messanger it says it cant as it is being used by other programs, meaning outlook express, so i can get rid of msn 🙁

That could be part of the problem. (they’ve had lots of compatibility problems in the past)

Disk fragmentation could also cause problems.

Yes you can. Close down Outlook Express and Outlook if you have it.

Go to Start/Control Panel/Add?Remove Software.

On the sidebar you will see Add/Remove Windows components.

Click on that and select Windows Messenger from the list.

Hit the delete button. Et voila, no more Windows Messenger. (Windows will keep a copy in a hidden folder, but won’t run it).

If you don’t use Outlook Express for your mail, you can delete that as well with the same method.
